Sr. Zainab Bey

Sr. Zainab Bey is a retired educator from the New York City Department of Education, where she worked for 33 years. She spent 12 years serving as the Community School District Superintendent. Sr. Zainab also served as a deputy superintendent, school principal, assistant principal, and she has taught a diverse group of students, including students with disabilities in both elementary and middle school grades. Additionally, she also taught English to adults to help them prepare for their high school diploma. Sr. Zainab Bey is the vice-president on The Islamic Center of Long Island’s (ICLI’s) Executive Committee. Her life-long work has been based on interfaith relationships, education and community engagement.
