BENJAMIN RIFKIN

Benjamin (“Ben”) Rifkin is a Professor of Russian Language and Literature at Hofstra University. As a leader in higher education, Rifkin has focused on reducing impediments to student participation in high-impact/transformative learning experiences such as study abroad, internships, community-engaged learning, and undergraduate research. He has also been a leader in facilitating the development and implementation of shared governance, the building of community in higher education settings, and the resolution of conflict through principled compromise, consensus building, purposeful listening, and the recognition of the dignity.
