Born in Afghanistan, Ishan came to America with his parents at the age of seven.
After high school on Long Island, he graduated from New York University with
major in Biochemistry and minor in Near Eastern Civilizations, then attended
medical school. After graduation from medical school, Ishan changed course and
decided to pursue business. Currently he manages Urgent Care centers, along with
the family business, focused on information technology. Ishan is married and
blessed with twins—boy and girl who are 17, followed by 16-year-old and 13-
year-old boys.
Ishan served on the executive committee of the Islamic Center of Long Island and
has been an active participant in the Council of American Relations and other
organizations. Ishan’s goal is to promote mutual understanding, respect,
appreciation and cooperation among people of various faith and cultural
communities.
